Be respectful that it is Your Mother!

Erva D'Ouro came to Évora and couldn't miss Tua Madre, a restaurant that has become a reference point for any gluttonous Lisboner.

Marisa was our host for the first day of the year, which got off to a great start with this delicacy from the gods. Together with her partner Francesco, they make this Tua Madre, a perfect fusion between Alentejo and Italy, always focusing on small producers.

Being the good olive oil lovers that we are, we ordered the house olive oil to start with - Amor é cego (Love is blind) and were pleasantly surprised by this Galician olive oil. We moved on to the house focaccia (What a God!) and São's bread, along with I'm Cheese, now Ortodoxo, a regular in our grocery store.

Marisa recommended an incredible wine - Centurião 2009 - and introduced us to the Goliardos project. It was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the meal. Tua Madre is committed to low intervention wines.

We had beef tongue carpaccio, probably the best ragu of our lives and a wonderful grilled pork, needless to say we only remembered the photos halfway through the meal.

Filled with good produce, wonderful meat and delicious vegetables, Tua Madre stands out for its simple and original cuisine, an honest and natural alternative.
